Hi! Welcome to my Substack.
Here you’ll find wonderings and wanderings about ecospirituality, sacred activism, finding our way through the apocalypse, and more.
Who is this Substack for?
Seekers, dreamers, activists, anyone longing to co-create a more beautiful world and recognizes that this means stepping boldly and tenderly into the unknown. You and others who are asking the big questions about who they are, what they believe, and how they are called to make change in the world.
Who am I?
I’m Chelsea MacMillan, an interspiritual minister and sacred activist who lives, works, and plays in Brooklyn, NY. I cofounded Brooklyn Center for Sacred Activism, an experiment in New Monastic community living, and co-hosted The Rising: Spirituality for Revolution, a podcast for sacred activists. With a diverse background in spiritual direction, climate justice organizing, and the performing arts, I have spent the last 15+ years facilitating humans of all ages and backgrounds.
What excites me most is witnessing others wake up to their purpose and agency as individuals as well as the power created by making change together.
Current fascinations (and future essay topics):
the spaces in-between — action/contemplation, fierceness/gentleness, expression/silence
changing the way change is made — i.e. how can we better root our social movements in Love and infuse them with Spirit?
how to make collaborative experiences easier and more fun for everyone involved
ecospirituality — particularly what it would look like for us to re-enchant ourselves to the world
climate grief as a practice
joy as an act of defiance
the climate crisis as a path of awakening
